Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, successfully delivered a victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his polling unit during the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
At Polling Unit 022, Ward 3, Oke-Aremo—the senator’s own voting center—the APC polled 49 votes, outpacing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which secured 31 votes. Senator Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, actively participated in the electoral exercise and expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the poll.
He commended both the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and security agencies for maintaining orderliness and ensuring voters’ safety throughout the process. Senator Alli stated that the outcome reflected the confidence and trust that the people of Oyo State continue to place in the APC.
