The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State has suspended its Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Auta, with immediate effect over allegations of anti-party activities. The announcement was made during a press conference by the Shiroro LG chairman, Honorable Tanko Galadima.
Galadima outlined serious accusations against Auta, including issuing fraudulent party membership cards and extorting funds. It was noted that Auta conducted these activities without properly registering the individuals in the official ward register. Moreover, Auta allegedly misrepresented himself as the current party chairman, organized unauthorized meetings, and caused divisions within the party ranks.
These actions, according to the chairman, have damaged the reputation of the ADC in the council area. The decision to suspend Auta was unanimously supported by the 25 ADC chairmen across Niger State and backed by the state chairman, Hassan Musa.
The suspension followed a formal letter from 15 members of the Egwa Ward Executive requesting an investigation into Auta’s activities, which are said to violate Article 22 of the party’s constitution. ADC leadership in Niger State reiterated its commitment to maintaining the party’s integrity and pledged to ensure fairness and transparency as the issue is addressed.
This move reflects the ADC’s efforts to uphold discipline and unity as the party prepares for forthcoming political contests.
