Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will face widespread rejection from Nigerians in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after a strategy meeting, the governors argued that the APC has failed to deliver on promises of security, economic stability, and good governance. They said the hardship being experienced across the country—marked by rising inflation, unemployment, and insecurity—has eroded public trust in the ruling party.
The PDP leaders stressed that Nigerians are eager for change and would no longer tolerate policies that, in their view, have worsened poverty and deepened divisions. They also noted that the opposition party is working to reposition itself by uniting its members, strengthening internal structures, and building alliances that will give it an edge in the next elections.
According to the governors, the 2027 polls will serve as a defining moment for Nigeria’s democracy, and they are confident that citizens will use the ballot box to hold the APC accountable for its record in office.
