Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, has filed a lawsuit against Apple Inc. and OpenAI, accusing the two tech giants of engaging in anticompetitive practices that allegedly stifle innovation and unfairly dominate the fast-growing AI industry.
In court documents filed in the United States, xAI alleged that Apple’s partnership with OpenAI grants the iPhone maker an unfair advantage in integrating advanced AI models into its devices, particularly through the upcoming versions of Siri and other iOS features. The suit further claims that OpenAI has been using its market dominance to restrict competition, preventing alternative AI startups from accessing crucial data and development opportunities.
