Popular social media commentator Daniel Regha has strongly criticized the Super Eagles players and their head coach Eric Chelle following Nigeria’s narrow 1-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Despite the win, Regha described the team’s performance as a “huge embarrassment,” expressing disappointment in how a squad featuring some of the world’s best players produced a display reminiscent of “primary school pupils.”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Regha wrote, “For a team with such talent, Nigeria should have done more instead of narrowly scraping by with a lucky goal. If the team struggles this early in qualifying, how will they handle bigger teams in the World Cup if they qualify?”

Regha also suggested that the coach’s primary focus seems to be on securing three points rather than ensuring the team plays quality football. His comments reflect growing frustration among fans over the inconsistency and lack of seriousness shown by some players.

The Super Eagles remain in third place in Group C after the win, with tougher fixtures ahead, including a crucial away game against South Africa, which will test their resolve and ability to improve on their current form.
