The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its commitment to presenting a united and focused front ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party vowed not to tolerate members with personal or ulterior motives who seek to undermine the party’s goal of unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

At a recent political gathering in Lagos, led by ADC National Secretary and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the party emphasized the importance of discipline, loyalty, and collective mission. Aregbesola urged members to fully commit to the grassroots mobilization strategy aimed at ensuring victories at both federal and state levels, particularly targeting Lagos State and the presidency.

In his address, Aregbesola announced that the ADC plans to strengthen its ranks by a recruitment formula where every committed member brings in ten more supporters, multiplying efforts exponentially across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

The ADC’s strategy is geared toward building overwhelming dominance in the 2027 elections, with a sharp focus on inclusivity and rooting out factionalism within the party ranks. The party leadership stressed that anyone working against this national mission, or acting out of self-interest, would face sanctions or expulsion.

This resolve comes amid the recent coalition of various opposition forces, including figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who formally joined the ADC, intensifying the fight against the APC government.

The ADC’s stance signals a robust reaction to internal challenges and external political pressure, as they build momentum to offer a credible alternative in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
