The Obidient Movement has officially denied rumors suggesting an alliance or pact between former President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-presidential candidate Peter Obi aimed at removing President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. The movement described such claims as false and a deliberate misinformation campaign intended to undermine its credibility and the political process.
Nana Kazaure, Director of Strategic Communications for the Obidient Movement, clarified that there is no secret agreement or collaboration between Jonathan and Obi in this regard. He emphasized that the movement remains firmly committed to supporting Peter Obi’s presidential ambition independently, highlighting Obi’s unique political base and strong grassroots support.
The Obidient Movement reaffirmed its position as a distinct political force focused on promoting justice, unity, and good governance, distancing itself from narratives that link it to other political actors or agendas. It urged Nigerians and the international community to be cautious of disinformation aimed at destabilizing opposition movements.
This statement comes amidst growing political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 general elections where various parties and coalitions are positioning themselves for power.
