The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has moved to clear the air over the controversy trailing the appointment of its coordinator in Taraba State.
In recent days, some party stakeholders expressed dissatisfaction with the selection process, alleging that due consideration was not given to consultation and inclusiveness. Critics argued that the appointment could deepen division within the state chapter if left unaddressed.
Responding, PDP officials stressed that the appointment followed due process and was made in the overall interest of strengthening the party’s structure in Taraba. According to them, the decision was reached after careful deliberation with leaders at both the state and national levels.
Party executives urged members to put aside grievances and work together to ensure unity, particularly as preparations continue for future elections. They emphasized that internal disputes should not distract the PDP from its broader mission of consolidating its position in the state.
While acknowledging concerns raised, the leadership assured members that reconciliation efforts are ongoing and that the party remains open to dialogue with aggrieved stakeholders.
