The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to inaugurate its 2025 National Convention Committee on Tuesday as part of ongoing preparations for a major restructuring and repositioning ahead of future elections.
According to party officials, the inauguration will take place at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, with members of the committee drawn from across the six geopolitical zones of the country. The committee is expected to oversee the planning and execution of the convention, which will deliberate on critical issues such as internal reforms, leadership arrangements, and strategies for regaining political dominance.
PDP leaders emphasized that the upcoming convention is an opportunity for the party to strengthen unity, resolve lingering disputes, and re-establish itself as a formidable opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections. They added that the exercise will reflect the party’s long-standing commitment to democratic principles, inclusiveness, and transparency.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary noted that the convention would not only shape the future direction of the PDP but also serve as a rallying point for members and stakeholders determined to return the party to power.
