Popular Nigerian comedian Ali Baba (Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome) and his company, XQZMOI TV, have been evicted from their luxurious property located at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. The eviction was carried out by bailiffs of the Federal High Court following a writ of possession signed on August 15, 2025.

The property was initially acquired by Ali Baba in 2021 for ₦220 million from the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). AMCON claimed the property was sold as part of the recovery of debts allegedly owed by Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited. However, Harold Expansion disputed the debt, asserting that they had fully repaid and that the sale was wrongful.

On July 31, 2025, Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa ruled in favor of Harold Expansion Industries, dismissing AMCON’s case due to lack of evidence and ordered the property to be returned to the family of the original owner. The court also awarded ₦500 million in damages against AMCON.

Despite purchasing the house during ongoing litigation, Ali Baba was affected by the court’s judgment reversing the sale. The eviction has stirred considerable discussions, but Ali Baba and his management team have yet to comment publicly on the situation.

The eviction marks a significant development in a high-profile legal battle involving major players in Nigeria’s real estate and entertainment sectors.
