The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially inaugurated its Local Government Area (LGA) executive committees across 21 LGAs, marking a significant milestone in the party’s grassroots mobilization and renewal efforts. The inauguration ceremony, held recently, brought together party leaders, elected representatives, and local officials to formalize leadership structures aimed at fostering community development and political engagement.
In his address, the ADC State Chairman, Professor John Okoroma, reaffirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to revitalizing political participation at the grassroots level. He emphasized the importance of strengthening local governance as a foundation for sustainable socio-economic growth and improved service delivery in Imo State.
The party’s new LGA executives are expected to steer inclusive programs that promote transparency, accountability, and grassroots empowerment. The ADC leadership highlighted ongoing efforts to consolidate party structures and ensure unity among members to present a solid front ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Local stakeholders praised the inauguration as a positive step toward rejuvenating political processes that resonate with ordinary citizens’ aspirations. The ADC’s focus on grassroots leadership will be critical in shaping political dynamics in Imo, historically characterized by vibrant but contentious local governance.
Going forward, the party has pledged to maintain consistent communication with constituents and coordinate development initiatives that enhance livelihoods across all LGAs, positioning itself as a credible alternative in the state’s political landscape.
