Chief Olabode George, former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has issued a stern warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. George cautioned that any attempt to rig the upcoming elections would plunge Nigeria into chaos and ruin, describing such actions as a direct path to national disaster.

Speaking at a political event, George emphasized the critical importance of credible, transparent, and fair elections for Nigeria’s democratic survival and social stability. He urged INEC to uphold its constitutional mandate without bias or manipulation to prevent undermining the will of the Nigerian people.

The PDP chieftain echoed concerns shared by various political leaders and civil society activists about increasing electoral malpractice and warned that Nigeria would face severe consequences if democratic processes were compromised. He also called on all political stakeholders to respect electoral laws and commit to peaceful democratic participation.

Bode George’s warning aligns with the growing call for electoral reforms to restore confidence in Nigeria’s electoral system, ensuring the 2027 elections are free, fair, and credible.
