Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially declared his intention to contest the Lagos State governorship election in 2027, aiming to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Jandor emphasized that his aspiration stems from a commitment to further promoting inclusive governance, transparency, and sustained development in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

Jandor, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who recently rejoined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), explained that his objective is not merely personal ambition but a shared vision for Lagos—a Lagos where opportunity, innovation, and prosperity are accessible to all residents.

He highlighted his experience during the 2023 election cycle and expressed confidence in his ability to navigate Lagos’s complex political landscape. While reaffirming his commitment, Jandor showed readiness to work within the party’s framework and support whichever candidate emerges if he is not eventually chosen.

He also acknowledged the strong competition within the APC, including potential candidates like Seyi Tinubu, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and Tokunbo Abiru, praising their qualifications and pledging to rally behind the party’s flagbearer.

Jandor’s re-entry into the APC is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s prospects in Lagos, a state critical to national politics. His campaign will focus on good governance, economic empowerment, and improved service delivery to build on Governor Sanwo-Olu’s achievements.
