The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed serious concerns about the state of opposition parties in Nigeria as the 2027 general elections approach. In a statement issued on October 21, 2025, APC spokesperson Hon. Seye Oladejo criticized the opposition for what he described as a deteriorating state marked by confusion, lack of leadership, and an absence of a coherent political philosophy.
Oladejo accused the opposition coalition of being driven by desperation and personal ambitions rather than a meaningful agenda to serve Nigerians, which he argued poses a danger to the democratic process in the country. He contrasted this with the APC’s disciplined, issue-driven approach under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the Renewed Hope Agenda focused on economic reforms, national stability, and citizen empowerment.
According to Lagos APC, the opposition has failed to present clear plans for key areas such as the economy, security, education, and social development, instead engaging in propaganda and divisive politics, which foster voter apathy. The party urged Nigerians to see beyond the opposition’s “rudderless” facade and cast their votes as a referendum on governance performance.
The Lagos APC concludes by reaffirming its commitment to Nigeria’s prosperity and urges opposition parties to embrace leadership and sincerity if they wish to contribute positively to the nation’s democratic progress.
