Hon. Musa Gude, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Uke/Karshi Constituency, has made headlines with his appointment of 106 aides to support his legislative duties and community development initiatives. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) lawmaker revealed that his aides include both special and personal assistants, with salaries ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦100,000.
During an interview in Lafia, Gude defended the scale of appointments as a strategic and deliberate effort to improve governance and uplift living standards within his constituency. He described this move as part of an “inclusive leadership style,” aimed at ensuring people feel engaged and directly involved in government affairs.
Beyond creating jobs, Gude highlighted ongoing constituency projects that include drilling boreholes, paying WAEC fees for students, and advancing health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure development. These initiatives, he said, have empowered many residents towards self-reliance.
Despite potential critics questioning the sustainability of appointing so many aides, Gude stands by his decision, emphasizing tangible improvements witnessed in his constituency as a result of his team’s efforts.
He appealed for unity and peace among his constituents, urging them to set aside differences and continue collaborating for collective progress.
