The Nigerian film industry has lost one of its pioneering legends. Fabian Adibe, a veteran Nollywood actor renowned for his role in the acclaimed NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart,” passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning at the age of 82. His death was confirmed by renowned celebrity journalist and movie producer Seun Oloketuyi.

Adibe’s remarkable career helped shape the foundation of Nollywood. He was part of the Odunke Artists collective in the 1970s and played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965.
