The All Progressives Congress (APC) stands strong and united as it prepares for the 2027 general elections, with the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, expressing unshakable confidence in a victorious outcome for President Bola Tinubu. Speaking in Abuja during a condolence visit from APC Press Corps members, Yilwatda highlighted recent electoral successes and growing grassroots support as evidence of the party’s formidable position across Nigeria.
Reflecting on recent legislative bye-election victories, Yilwatda underscored how opposition forces were clearly defeated even in their traditional strongholds, signaling a broad acceptance of the APC’s leadership. He said the party’s popularity transcends regional divides, with strong backing from both northern and southern Nigeria.
“We are not just the ruling party, but the leading and preferred party in Nigeria,” Yilwatda stated. “With acceptance levels exceeding 75 percent nationwide, our success in 2027 is all but guaranteed.” He emphasized that criticisms from opposition parties have only served to strengthen APC’s resolve and strategy.
Further boosting the party’s prospects, Yilwatda revealed that more governors and lawmakers from opposition parties are expected to defect to the APC as the 2027 election approaches. He credited President Tinubu’s governance performance, integrity, and accomplishments with attracting significant political figures into the party.
The APC chairman called on party members to remain united and focused, warning that while opposition parties remain noisy, the APC is concentrated on its mission to move Nigeria forward efficiently. He also praised the political maturity demonstrated by leaders in the South-South and South-East regions, noting their recent defections as a strong vote of confidence in Tinubu’s leadership.
With Yilwatda at the helm of the APC, the party is poised to execute a seamless re-election campaign focused on youth engagement, strategic alliances, and robust grassroots mobilization. The party’s clear message remains: APC is here to stay, and Bola Tinubu will lead Nigeria to greater heights in 2027.
