The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State has reduced nomination form fees for women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) by 50% in a bid to promote inclusivity and encourage broader participation in the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for December 13, 2025. This announcement was made by the state party chairman, Hon. Bello Ayuba, during a press briefing in Maiduguri.

The party has set the nomination form fees for local government chairmanship positions at ₦2,000,000 and ₦500,000 for councillorship seats. However, women and PWD aspirants will pay ₦1,000,000 and ₦250,000 respectively, reflecting the 50% reduction to ease their participation amidst economic challenges caused by ongoing security issues in the state.

Hon. Bello Ayuba highlighted that this move aims to uphold inclusivity and ensure that women and physically challenged members of the party have equal opportunities in contesting for governance roles at the grassroots level. The APC has also established committees for form sales, screening, appeals, and reconciliation to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the election process.

The party’s commitment to leveling the playing field marks a significant step toward strengthening democratic participation and representation in Borno State.
