Loyalty, general term that signifies a person’s devotion or sentiment of attachment to a particular object, which may be another person or group of persons, an ideal, a duty, or a cause. It expresses itself in both thought and action and strives for the identification of the interests of the loyal person with those of the object

Political loyalty is devotion to, and identification with, a political cause or a political community, its institutions, basic laws, major political ideas, and general policy objectives. The nature and content of political loyalty has varied greatly through the ages. In Nigeria today a political animal has not only build a battalion of loyalists but has successfully built a nationwide conglomerate of loyalist.

His political career began in 1992, on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, Identifying Loyalty as a wonderful human quality and a necessary political criteria on which to build a political structure, Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu (Jagaban of Borgu) is a man to recon with when it comes to political decision because he has conglomerate of loyalist that will make his decision trend and be accepted.

On this Jagaban issue, every 4 years people come on social media to yell and castigate the man over his political decisions. There are over 18m people in Lagos, over 1000 politicians yet they cannot unseat him. Is this his fault? Are you expecting him to raise his legs and say “hi guys come and screw me over”.

He left the AD, formed the AC then ACN, Afenifere, Obasanjo could not unseat him. He lost two deputy governors, Kofo Bucknor and Femi Pedro to the opposition party, Lost Obanikoro, a man he single handedly made a senator to PDP, he lost Jimi Agbaje a close ally also to the PDP. They tried to unseat him, they failed. Obasanjo and GEJ tried, they didn’t succeed. Lagos state had the Minister for works, Ogunlewe, PDP BOT chairman – Bode George, Minister for Defence – Obanikoro, Olusegun Aganga – Trade and Investment but while these notable men go to bed at night, Jagaban stays awake scheming and planning his next move at Bourdillon, rallying the grassroot and then he comes with either the stick or the carrot. Obanikoro his sworn enemy is back, Pedro is back, Salvador former PDP chairman is back to his camp.

He did not put a gun to anybody’s head to wine and dine with him. Why can’t they form an alliance to finish him off? We have a choice not to associate with him don’t we ?

He has successfully built a battalion of loyalists from 1999 till date. From Fashola to the councilor in the smallest ward in Lagos. Fashola, Osinbajo, Fowler, Lai Mohammed, Ben Akabueze, Ojudu, Ade Ipaye, Rauf, Hamzat, GOS, Gbajabiamila, Faleke, Yayi, Ashafa, Opeifa, Tunji Bello, Leke pitan, Jide Idris, Dele Alake, Mamora and a whole lot of other young brilliant minds. For every one person he empowered, he got thousands more in return. He identifies the best and use them to his advantage.

Can Bode George or Ogunlewe roll out a list comparable to Tinubu’s list? Why haven’t they been able to create a formidable opposition to kick him out? They had the federal might for 16 years to their advantage.

To be honest, is he at fault? What do we expect him to do? Crawl under his duvet at Bourdillon or watch African Magic? Why can’t other politicians form a concesus?

He is the Lion of Bourdillon and when he roars, his lionesses and cubs will respond. Unless a stronger pride emerges, he will continue to rule this jungle. It is the law of nature, sentiments dont matter. He is already scheming for 2023, 4 years ahead of these docile politicians.
Many politicians need to study this man and aim to imbibe some of his qualities!

1. Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN was Tinubu’s
Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. He is today, Nigeria’s Vice President.

2. Rauf Aregbesola was Tinubu’s Commissioner for Works. Today he is serving his second tenure as Governor of Osun State.

3. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN was Tinubu’s
Chief of Staff and successor in office. He is today Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Works and

4. Alhaji Lai Mohammed was Tinubu’s first Chief of Staff. He is today, Nigeria’s Minister
of Information.

5. Babatunde Fowler was appointed by Tinubu as Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service. Today, he is the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service.

6. Ben Akabueze a complete Igboman, a Pastor was Commissioner on his recommendation and now DG at the Budget office of the Federation.

At the National Assembly, there are countless
“Tinubu boys” who have occupied and are still
occupying seats till today. Since 1999, the Tinubu camp has produced almost 98% of the members of the National Assembly from Lagos State.

Forget politics, this man is a political enigma.Rewind to 1999, I am sure most of us
have forgotten the names of the People who were elected Governors then. Some of them have gone out of circulation. Some are gasping for breathpolitically.

Indeed, most of them are no longer
relevant today. Who still remembers Mbadinuju of Anambra State, Jolly Nyame of Taraba,
Segun Osoba of Ogun, Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto, Achike Udenwa of Imo, Victor Attah of Akwa Ibom, Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia? That one has lost two consecutive senatorial elections.

But Tinubu has not only managed to remain extremely relevant, he has continued to largely control Lagos politics. Not only that, he manages to carry his boys along and today they occupy critical positions in our national life.

Take it or leave it, Tinubu is today, Nigeria’s
most powerful politician. It didn’t just happen by chance.

He worked very hard for it. Very very
hard. The hallmark of a true leader is not just the ability to rule well but also the ability to nurture and groom his associates.

He is the JAGABAN….Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu…many Love him, some love to hate and a lot more hate to love him!

He is a master strategist and Nigeria needs more of men like this!
