Nigerian rapper Erigga has expressed concern over the ongoing feud between fellow hip-hop artists Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck, describing it as detrimental to the growth and unity of the Nigerian hip-hop industry. Speaking in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Erigga highlighted that the rivalry is creating tension within the music scene, compelling other artists to take sides and diverting focus from celebrating the culture’s achievements.
According to Erigga, the conflict has been hyped by fans and media who thrive on drama rather than supporting positive development in the genre. He remarked, “Nigerian fans like it when rappers fight. This beef is bad for our culture because it allows people who don’t respect our music to push their own agendas.”
Erigga urged both rappers and their supporters to prioritize unity and collective progress over personal disputes. He emphasized that while beefs can bring attention, they rarely contribute to the long-term legacy of musicians or the broader hip-hop community.
The ongoing tension between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck has been a major talking point in Nigerian music circles, raising questions about the impact of rivalry on collaboration, respect for hip-hop pioneers, and the overall health of the industry.
