A Ghanaian pastor based in London, Apostle Isaac Anderson, was stunned recently when his iPhone 16 Pro Max was snatched from his hand during a live prayer session on Facebook. The incident occurred early in the morning on Hoe Street, Walthamstow, as Apostle Anderson led a sermon on Facebook Live around 6:30 am.
Two masked thieves on bicycles circled back and abruptly grabbed the phone while the pastor was unaware, continuing his sermon despite the sudden attack. The moment was captured live on video, showing the thieves’ confusion as they realized the phone was still broadcasting. One of the thieves exclaimed, “Hey JP, he’s on TikTok live… No, it’s Facebook,” as they hurriedly tried to end the stream before the video cut off.
A passing bus driver had attempted to warn the preacher by honking his horn several times, but Apostle Anderson was focused on his prayer. In the aftermath, the pastor expressed shock and sadness, especially since the stolen phone contained all his important information. He cautioned residents and fellow church members to stay vigilant, noting the increase in theft and crime in London.
The viral video has received mixed reactions online, with many sympathizing with the pastor and condemning the brazen theft during a sacred moment. It has also sparked conversations about safety in urban areas and the challenges of maintaining faith and community engagement in the face of such disruptions.
