Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo and National Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has disclosed that he personally spent ₦756 million on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign. In a viral video and interviews, MC Oluomo explained that he did not receive any financial support from Abuja during the campaign period.
He detailed that a significant portion of the funds went towards hotel accommodations, booking around 140 rooms at ₦45,000 per night for four months, as well as providing daily allowances and feeding for campaign workers who were actively mobilizing support. MC Oluomo emphasized his loyalty to Tinubu, whom he has supported since the 1990s, crediting the president for his current standing and livelihood.
Addressing criticisms from some Nollywood actors accusing him of withholding payments promised during the campaign, MC Oluomo refuted the claims, assuring that all workers were paid and treated well. He remains committed to supporting Tinubu’s political ambitions, stating that efforts are underway to ensure Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 elections.
MC Oluomo’s financial commitment underlines his pivotal role in grassroots mobilization and political campaigning within Lagos and beyond.
