The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of 105 suspects within the month of September 2025, apprehended in connection with over 30 major criminal cases across the state. The police disclosed that the arrests are part of intensified efforts to tackle crime, including armed robbery, drug trafficking, theft, and other violent offenses destabilizing communities.
According to the spokesperson for the Kano Police Command, the suspects were apprehended through coordinated operations targeting criminal hotspots such as Kofar Ruwa, Tashar Rami, Rijiyar Lemo, Kurna, Mil Tara, Zage, and other locations notorious for illegal activities. These efforts were conducted in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and other security agencies.
The police recovered a cache of locally made weapons, illicit drugs, and other contraband items during the raids. Confirming the ongoing investigations, officials stressed the commitment of the Kano State Joint Taskforce for Peace Restoration and Youth Rehabilitation to root out criminal elements, restore peace, and promote public safety.
The command urged community leaders, parents, and the general public to collaborate with security agencies by providing intelligence that would help sustain the fight against crime. Kano’s security agencies reaffirmed their resolve to keep the state safe and secure through proactive law enforcement and community partnership.
