The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a political irrelevance, mocking the party’s recent claims and predictions ahead of the 2027 elections. APC spokesperson Seye Oladejo described ADC as a “mushroom opposition party” whose boasts are “empty” and lacking substance.
Oladejo specifically targeted former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who had recently boasted that the ADC would take over Aso Rock and Lagos Government House. The APC spokesperson called Aregbesola’s claims “political suicide” and warned Nigerians not to take the rhetoric seriously.
The APC emphasized that Nigerians prioritize performance over political noise and that the party’s achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare remain visible and credible. Oladejo noted that ADC’s poor showing in recent elections means it lacks the capacity to unseat the APC, which he described as having “consistency over confusion” and “competence over comedy.”
The statement served as a clear warning to the opposition while affirming the APC’s confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and the ruling party’s strong political standing in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
