Ose Anenih, son of the late Chief Tony Anenih, one of the founding fathers of Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced his resignation from the party. In a letter dated August 18, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Arue Ward 3 in Uromi, Edo State, Anenih explained that his decision follows deep personal reflection and a desire to dedicate more time to his family and other pressing responsibilities.
Having been a prominent figure in the PDP with a long-standing association, Ose Anenih described his departure as a carefully considered move, acknowledging the significant role the party has played in his political journey. He expressed gratitude for the friendships and experiences that shaped both his political and personal life within the party.
Although stepping back from active partisan politics, Anenih reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s progress. He pledged to continue contributing to intellectual and civic discourse aimed at promoting good governance and improving the lives of Nigerian citizens.
His resignation comes at a time of heightened political activity in Edo State as the PDP navigates internal party dynamics and prepares for upcoming elections. Ose Anenih’s exit is expected to spark discussions within the PDP about its direction and cohesion, especially in the context of the evolving political landscape.
