Big Brother Naija star and entrepreneur Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has disclosed why she opted to hold her Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt for the most makeovers in 24 hours in Nigeria instead of London, where the event was initially planned. Speaking at her ongoing Tacha Beauty Festival at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos, Tacha explained that London did not give her the vibe she wanted.

Tacha shared that while they had plans and sponsorship from the brand NYX to attempt the record in London, she felt that Nigeria was the best place to host the event because her people were here. She wanted the project to spotlight Nigeria’s creative potential and put the Nigerian beauty industry on the global map.

The event saw her surpass the previous record by completing over 115 makeovers in 12 hours, despite challenges like a brief power outage. The Lagos State Government, through special adviser Idris Aregbe, praised the effort as a demonstration of Nigeria’s ability to compete on a world stage.

Tacha’s decision highlights her passion for promoting Nigerian culture and creativity, making the event a celebration of homegrown talent and ambition.
