England head coach Thomas Tuchel has expressed immense satisfaction with the performance of winger Noni Madueke following the team’s emphatic 5-0 victory against Serbia in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in Belgrade on September 9, 2025.
Tuchel praised Madueke for his impressive individual display, including scoring his first international goal, showcasing skill, pace, and attacking threat that added dynamism to England’s front line. Madueke’s contributions were crucial in a match where England dominated possession and decisively dismantled Serbia’s defense.
Apart from Madueke’s standout performance, Tuchel highlighted the overall excellent teamwork and intensity shown by the squad. England opened the scoring with Harry Kane’s header and later had goals from defenders Ezri Konsa and Marc Guéhi, with Marcus Rashford capping the win via penalty.
Tuchel remarked, “I’m more than happy for the team,” emphasizing that the players’ commitment in training was well reflected on the pitch. He acknowledged challenges such as the absence of key players like Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka but praised the squad depth and ability to perform under pressure.
The victory moved England seven points clear at the top of Group K, putting them in a strong position to secure World Cup qualification with three games remaining.
