Governor Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum, has boldly asserted that the APC remains the only real political party in Nigeria. Speaking on the ongoing wave of defections from opposition parties, Uzodimma emphasized that these movements underscore the growing confidence Nigerians have in the APC-led government under President Bola Tinubu.
He stated, “The truth is, there is only one political party in Nigeria and that party is APC.” Uzodimma argued that the grassroots support, electoral performances, and cohesive governance within the APC differentiate it clearly from fragmented opposition platforms.
Highlighting the party’s commitment to inclusion, equity, and delivering results, Uzodimma said Nigerians are now focused on performance and vision above ethnic or nostalgic loyalties. He credited the APC’s reforms, infrastructural developments, and economic stability as factors attracting politicians and citizens alike.
Uzodimma’s statement comes amid growing debate on Nigeria’s political landscape as defections reshape party alignments while opposition parties grapple with internal challenges. APC’s dominance seems poised for continuation into the 2027 general election cycle, according to his remarks.
