The Delhi Government has launched the Viksit Delhi CM Internship Program 2025, a pioneering initiative aimed at engaging youth in governance and policymaking while offering valuable practical experience. A total of 87 students were selected from more than 9,000 applicants to participate in this program, which begins immediately and will last for three months.

The internship is designed for young people pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies, providing them a hands-on opportunity to work with various government departments, contributing to projects that shape the city’s development. Each selected intern will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000 during the program.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized transparency throughout the selection process, contrasting it with previous administrations where internship opportunities were criticized as politically motivated and limited to a select few. “This time, the process was merit-based, fair, and focused solely on harnessing the energy and ideas of talented youth,” she stated during the program’s launch.

Interns will work closely with senior government officials and participate in policy development, fostering a practical understanding of administration and governance. The program aims to equip participants with skills in problem-solving and innovative thinking, preparing them for future leadership roles.

The Viksit Delhi CM Internship Program aligns with India’s broader vision of youth empowerment and smart governance, encouraging young minds to contribute actively towards building a cleaner, smarter, and more prosperous Delhi.
