The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded to accusations that he is working to destabilize the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and align with President Tinubu and the APC. Speaking on Wednesday, Wike pointed out that many of his critics who claimed he was undermining the PDP have since defected to the APC.

Wike challenged his detractors, saying their actions prove his critics were not loyal to the PDP but were seeking personal gains. He emphasized his commitment to the party and suggested that those now in the APC had ulterior motives when they accused him of sabotage.

The PDP has experienced internal tensions and defections ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Wike playing a prominent role in the party’s South-South zone politics. Despite the controversy, Wike remains a key figure in Nigerian politics, particularly as the PDP gears up for the upcoming electoral battles.
