Former Nigerian international Victor Ikpeba has identified frequent changes in coaching as the Super Eagles’ most significant problem in their ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. Speaking in a detailed interview on PrimeSports with Mahlatse, Ikpeba highlighted that the national team’s lack of stability and continuity has undermined their performance despite the abundance of talent within the squad.
“We have changed too many managers,” Ikpeba stated. “We had one coach for the first two games, and then another for the next two. Now, with crucial matches ahead against South Africa and other contenders, the Super Eagles face immense pressure to deliver results.
Despite setbacks, Ikpeba remains hopeful, urging fans and players to rally behind the current team and coaching staff. “We have tremendous talent in this squad,” he said. “It’s about getting the players to perform consistently and with a united mindset.”
