Former Kano State Governor and veteran politician Abdullahi Ganduje has categorically denied recent reports that he intends to abandon the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Speaking on September 6, 2025, Ganduje dismissed the rumors as baseless and reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the APC.
Ganduje emphasized that his primary focus remains on strengthening the APC and contributing positively to the party’s preparations ahead of the crucial 2027 general elections. He stated, “I am committed to the progress and unity of the APC. There is no truth to the claims that I am planning to defect to the ADC or any other party.”
Political observers note that these rumors emerged amidst growing speculation and realignment within Nigeria’s political landscape, with some party members considering switching allegiances in search of better opportunities. However, Ganduje’s statement seeks to quash uncertainty and reinforce confidence among APC supporters.
The seasoned politician also appealed for unity within the APC ranks, urging members to work collectively to face upcoming electoral challenges. Ganduje remains an influential figure whose experience is valued within the party hierarchy, and his continued presence is seen as a stabilizing factor for the APC.
